What's new at UCR for Veterans and Service Members:
If you are a member of the military you may be eligible for special new registration considerations as a UCR student, including priority registration and exemption from the Deferred Payment Plan application fee.
Documentation is required to establish eligibility. If we have previously certified you for benefits under Chapters 30, 31, 1606 or 1607, you will be automatically eligible. Otherwise, please contact us to find out what documentation may be applicable in your current situation.
Good news! We received word that Chapters 30 and 1607 rates will increase by 20% on August 1, 2008, instead of the usual October 1 date. New full-time rates are:
Chapter 1607
Consecutive service of 90 days but less than one year -- $528.40
Consecutive service of 1 year + -- $792.60
Consecutive service of 2 years + -- $1056.80
Chapter 30
The new full-time rate for 3 or more years of service is $1321 (plus any kicker for which you may be eligible).
If you have already been certified for Summer Sessions and/or the 2008/2009 academic year, we will soon be sending revised figures over to the Financial Aid Office, and you may expect a revision of your Financial Aid award. If you disagree with those revisions, we suggest you first contact your Financial Aid counselor. If you still have problems, give us a call at (951) 827-3861.
