The mission of Services for Students with Disabilities is to assist in creating an accessible University environment where students with disabilities have equal access to educational programs and opportunity to participate fully in all aspects of campus life. Through partnerships with students, faculty, and staff, we work to promote students' independence, self-advocacy, and development, and to ensure recognition of their abilities, not disabilities. We:
- Provide and coordinate appropriate academic accommodations and related services to meet the individual disability-related needs of matriculated UC Riverside students.
- Consult with faculty about reasonable and effective academic accommodations.
- Advise academic and administrative departments about student access to programs and facilities.
- Provide technical assistance to university departments, including assistance in identifying accommodations and responding to requests for services on a case by case basis.
