Regularly enrolled students with a verified permanent or temporary disability may have access to the Mobility Services Center.  All services must be scheduled in advance.  The SMSC does not provide rides for people who are ill or have communicable medical conditions, nor does the SMSC operate as a transportation source for emergency care.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, DIAL 911

Specialized on-campus transportation is offered on a space-available basis for students whose disabilities make it difficult for them to traverse the campus.  The SMSC also provides on-foot assistance to students with visual impairments who need to go to on-campus locations with which they are unfamiliar and for non-routine academic matters.  The Center also provides assistance locating accommodating (e.g., stairless) routes on campus.

Other Services Available

  • Adaptive equipment, i.e., wheelchairs, crutches, canes, lap desks and overbed tables, are available for loan.
  • Minor equipment repair or assistance locating repair services.
  • Battery-powered, adaptive equipment re-charging:  space permitting.
